New York Snippets

So last week I was in New York, which sounds so crazy. The last time I went to America was about 10 years ago when I went to Disneyland Florida, when I was 9. New York has always been on my list of places I need to visit at least once in my life and it definitely lived up to my expectations. This post could get very rambly but I'm going to try and cut it down as much as I possibly can! On this trip I visited so many different places; the Empire State building (on our first night, after a 7 hour flight and no sleep, whutt?!), Grand Central Station, Soho, Times Square, Ground Zero, The Statue of Liberty (well I got on a ferry that went past it!), The Rockefeller Centre, The Metropolitan Museum of Art (well the steps anyway, oops), 5th Avenue and Central Park.

Highlights include Times Square, although there was no escaping the constant "hey, you wanna pay $60 for a tourist bus ride" or "want a picture with Elsa, oh but it's like $20" it was pretty amazing. It was right by our hotel so we basically visited it everyday to get to wherever else we where going. It's one of those places that's exactly what you expected from the movies and more. The first night we went there, we went through it to go and have dinner at Ellen's Stardust Diner. If you go to New York I would 100% say you HAVE to go to Ellen's Stardust diner, the waiters are all broadway (or aspiring to be) actors in between shows and they sing whilst you're eating your dinner and it's just the best thing ever. The food was pretty good too - I have a new love for waffle fries!

Another highlight was definitely Central park, it's basically like a TV/ film set, you're saying "omg that's that thing from that thing!!" constantly. Being the Gossip Girl obsessed person I am, I was especially excited about where Chuck and Blair got married not to mention the Friends Fountain aghh! It's also just a generally beautiful part of New York that I really want to go back to in the summer. Finally I also absolutely loved the view from the Top of the Rockefeller Centre. Personally I thought it was better than the Empire State Building, just because you can see the Empire State from the Top of the Rock which made the view even that more incredible.

I could go on and on annnddd on about my time in New York but that would be an extremely long post. I'm so grateful I got this opportunity though and I'm also so happy I went. New York is such an amazing place and I really hope I get to go back one day (hopefully when it's warmer) because there's just so much to do and see!
